Image Submission Information and Application

To assist you in correctly completing the image upload process, please follow these simple steps and guidelines:

  • Complete the Application for Image Submission
  • Enter ALL the required information.Image Submission Video 2
  • Upon submission of this application, an automated response is generated containing a link for where to upload your images. (Please check your spam/junk folder if you did not receive this email into your inbox.)
  • Upload each image separately.
  • Select the "SUBMIT" icon after successfully uploading your last image.
  • Fifteen (15) unique photographic images are required.
  • The first six (6) images uploaded must fit within the compulsory guidelines showing a standardized technical proficiency that all professional photographers, regardless of specialty, should know. (These images may come directly from client files or may be set up to demonstrate the technique that is required. These images may contain the same subject.)
  • The remaining nine (9) images must be representative of your purchased work from nine (9) unique photographic assignments in the last 24 months. No two of the nine assignments submitted may be of the same subject, even if they were commissioned at the same time from different clients.
  • The image submissions should reflect in proportion the types of photography work/services you provide.
  • Images must not have any identification (name/studio/logo) on them. Images with identifying marks of this kind will result in an immediate disqualification for the entire portfolio.
  • Images should be prepared as they are for a client, (as opposed to competition/salon images).
  • All images submitted should be self-directed and not set-up in a workshop environment or under direct supervision of an instructor.

It is suggested that you use Adobe Photoshop or Elements to edit your images. Your largest side, vertical or horizontal, should be 650 PIXELS. JPG images should be saved in sRGB mode high quality (10). File names should contain no spaces or special characters.

Individuals will be notified of their results once all portfolios have been judged.

Image Submission Requirements and Sample Images

As you start to prepare your portfolio of 15 images we suggest you review the Image Submission Requirements found in this document. Remember your portfolio must be comprised of 6 Compulsory images (3 required and 3 elective) as well as your additional 9 "purchased images".

Your client images should represent what you do in a normal course of business. That may be small product work, weddings, pets, portraits, headshots, sports, or other subjects. Keep in mind that images should represent actual client work from paying jobs, not self-assignments.
